Evangelism Ministry

Description: OUR VISION? Participate in the mission of Christ through evangelism within the New Bethel Church surrounding areas. To introduce a vision of evangelism emphasizing faithfulness to God's call to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ using the talents and resources available in NBC.

?Enable the congregation to evangelize both inward and outward by nurturing our own members and reaching out to the community, and surrounding area by word and action in an intentional and relational manner, through (WORD), Worship, Outreach, Relationships, and Discipleship.

?Our goal is to reach the unchurched and invite them to participate in a relationship with God.

Guiding Scripture: The Great Commission - Matthew 28:19-20a  

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

Prayer Ministry 

Description: The Prayer Ministry consists of the Prayer Warriors, the Intercessors and the Watchmen. The Intercessors stand in the gap for others and pray for a breakthrough on their behalf. The Prayer Warriors, war in the spirit against any attack of the enemy and the Watchmen stand watch and pray in the spirit.

Prison Ministry

Description: The Prison Ministry?s mission is to lead, teach and encourage the physically incarcerated, their families, friends, and victims to love God, love themselves, love others and share Christ as a beacon of love through redeeming ministry.

Hospitality Ministry

Description: To promote fellowship amongst members, visitors and strangers. Extend hospitality as "stewards of the feast" by preparing the fellowship table to nourish and restore the physical body.

Senior Ministry

Description: To help enhance spiritual growth, as we practice daily the principles received from God?s word. Our small contribution of service is an opportunity we take seriously to be a part of God?s master plan for our lives. Partnership with other ministries and provide support with obedience and love of God through service.

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Little Lambs Nursery

Description: Our Little Lambs Nursery is a ministry developed specifically for God's smallest and youngest children, ages 2 - 5. Lay Ministry

Description: The purpose of the Connectional Lay Organization is to organize and train the lay members to utilize to the maximum the abilities and skills granted by God, in assisting with the improvement and extension of God's kingdom, and creating happiness, peace and harmony among it's members. There are 14 objectives outlined in the Constitution and By-laws of the Lay Organization found in the AME Discipline. The NBC Lay Organization will work toward "Instilling in the membership a love for and an appreciation of the history, tradition, and principles of African Methodism in order to keep alive the sacred memory of our founder Richard Allen." Also, we will encourage the laity to support the total program of the church in the local congregation, in the community and throughout the Connection.

**Sankofa Ministry

Description: The Sankofa Ministry of NBC is based on the Adinkra symbol "sankofa" from Ghana, West Africa, which means literally, "Go back to fetch it." It is the symbol of the wisdom of learning from the past to build for the future. The Sankofa Ministry was established to celebrate our culture and heritage as people of African descent living in the Americas and members of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, which was also founded on the principles of freedom and justice. The Sankofa ministry applies Christian principles to our cultural and historical study of our past and present. it's purposes is to uplift our culture and history through inter-generational educational, cultural and spiritual activities that outreach to the NBC family, local community and global community.

Missionary Society

Description: We are called to strengthen our faith and sent to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ by service and witness in the word.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
